The Party Wall Act applies to any activity that could affect both sides of a boundary wall between two properties, such as demolishing or reconstructing the wall, treating it for damp, or inserting a beam within it. Before undertaking any project that may harm the other co-owner, authorization must be obtained. This is performed by sending a letter to all affected property owners. The notification must be made at least two months prior to the project's launch.
